Directory Killer?

I think v7n's new project is pretty good for advertisers. I am going to join soon, but to buy links, I will look somewhere else.

 

we will soon see what is more effective, this or directories. Time will tell. I definitely am keeping my eyes open and will talk to a lot of people about this.

 

I use both. I wouldn't want 90% of my link popularity coming from directories, nor would I want 90% coming from blogs.

 

John, what are the most needed niches?

Health related blogs
Shopping related blogs

Its contextual, so obviously it's niche based.

 

A wide variety of types of health blogs are needed.

An0n is right - we're trying to make the links as topically relevant as possible.

General health. We do not accept viagra links, but we do have several health insurance related advertisers. We need hundreds of blogs in that field.

Yes, the blog has to be related to the advertiser's site.

 

Great idea from V7N... and the price is great too bearing in mind that they are permanent links, but the implementation leaves much to be desired.

I paid $500, was assured I'd see results in a day or two. I waited over a week. Nothing. Sent reminders, got an email from John saying they'd update me ... no update. I sent another reminder saying, effectively, if you have an inventory shortage, don't worry, just tell me about it..... He replied offering me a "refund". Huh! I said I wanted an "update". But the update wasn't coming. So I said I'd take up his offer if they couldn't provide the update by the end of the day.

You wouldn't believe what happened next. Instead of providing the update he refunded the money and carried on with a diatribe about how I've insulted him, how he's giving me the links for free, that he's paying for them, that I'm taking charity, and that I therefore lack "integrity". I had to point out the stupidity of the reasoning that giving a voluntary refund takes away someone's integrity

My suspicion is that they lack the inventory and don't want to admit it. Also, that inventory is a sore point and it was my mention of possible shortage of inventory that got them all hot under the collar.

Ramshackle operation. John lets the side down. Not recommended. Go ahead - bombard me with red. Make my day.

<added> They did refund the money in full though so, not crooked, just not professional, IMHO</added>
