Have anyone noticed that in MSN blogspot results doesnt comes. I have a blog which comes with search engine optimizer in yahoo. But in MSN its nowhere. Its not just one case with other too its the same thing.
Oh I've certainly noticed that. At one point I WAS listed on MSN, then I just disappeared - I think around the time MSN launched their "new" search a few months ago. Annoying, bordering on evil.
I wrote about this a long time ago on my blog and this problem has not changed yet. Here is the link to my post. http://discretelife.blogspot.com/2005/03/msn-search-ignoring-blogger-blogspot.html
Interesting post discrete298 - as a data point, for reasons not clear to me, this Blogspot entry ranks #1 for foxy neighbors in Google and Yahoo ... but nowhere to be found in MSN - certainly does suggest that MSN is excluding their competitors blogs from the SERP's.
I have been searching for an answer to this...my blog is rated well on G and Y (top20 for most major terms) but entirely unindexed on MSN. Drives me batty actually
So you're saying you're not on there at all... or that you're badly listed? I just did a quick checkarooney: http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q="Terrible+Jokes"+"a+whole+host+of"&FORM=QBRE3 That's pretty a precise search but my jokes blog is in there. So they don't seem to be punishing all blogspot sites. Cheers Chris
I've a blog in blogspot and do not see my blogs in any search engine. Do you I have to submit it MSN to get indexed by them ?
Nope! I've used nothing but http://pingomatic.com/ and my profile on this board to display it with every post (see the "Edit Options" part of your Control Panel for the boards). Between the two, MSN found the blog.
For a while I have been seeing blogspot blogs in the msn SERPs, but not lately. Even blogger blogs that do great in both, Y and G, that are not anywhere present in msn.
They don't appear at all? Here's a search that produces one (mine): http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q="Terrible+Jokes"+"a+whole+host+of"&FORM=QBRE3
My news blog shows up #1, on page one in MSN when searching for the title of my Blogger blog. Kicker is, it's only a few months old. MSN is messed up... Google has me in spot 80-something, never mind, I just looked now and I'm not in the top 400 unless I use quotation marks for my KWP, then I'm #41. Guess I'm in the sandbox, playing with all the other new sites. Do you think I could be sandboxed if my site is showing in G with quotation marks? Doesn't seem right to me, but what do I know. Yahoo has me at spot 8 on page one. Maybe my KWP isn't that competitive? Although Yahoo shows "Results 1 - 10 of about 10,400,000". Do you think I place well on MSN because I host my own, even though I use Blogger to post? Could someone explain Pingomatic to me? Please type slowly so I can understand. Thanks.
About a week ago I've started a thread asking the same thing here . SarahK explained it pretty well I think.
Especially the ones returned by these queries: Tsunami Blog dave blog clown blog any blog really No wait, there's blogspot sites at the top of all those queries! They're not my blogs, just some random searches. My ones also turn up in other results. Am I seeing different things to everyone else?
Stop taking acid before visiting msn.com Just kidding...you're right, some are in there. But most of them are not. Means you have a ton of good content and links coming in IMO
My blog ranks in the top of Y! and G and not indexed at all in MSN ... They do have a small number of blogspot sites listed, but alas, not mine. Hmm, Bill G not wanting to give a leg up to Larry P ... who would've thunk?
There are definitely blogspot blogs doing very well in msn, but it is pretty obvious that many are being overlooked completely. There are many cases like this one where msn didn't even index a blog that is ranked in Y and G. I guess once a blog is doing well and has a lot of content and links, msn does recognize it. But I wouldn't expect any quick rankings from msn if you're hosting on blogspot.
Valid and verifiable points! I can do a an MSN search for freshdames.blogspot and see cached pages of other blogs pointing to me, but not mine ... hopefully it's a good sign though ... hey, I can hope can't I?!?
