This may sound like a really dumb question but hey Im gonna ask it anyway to kill my curiousity With Amazon, if you link to a specific item on your site and the customer through your affiliate link decides to purchase other Amazon items, do you get a commission on all the items they purchase if Amazon pays a commission on those items? Cheers
Yes, you get paid on other purchases and 3rd party purchases but you get 2.5% more if they buy from direct links from your site to the product.
Ive been doing a bit of reading on the Amazon site and it says the maximum commissions it pays out is 10% Did it not use to be more than this, something like 15% ?
Considering the have a profit margin that most business owners would make give up their business, handing out 15% would kill them. With 10% commission there's isn't much of the pie left for them actually.
Amazon has a decent payout IMO in general. I send folks there all the time from my forums with my affilliate links. Works OK, worth the effort for sure.
Every visitor you send to amazon gets a cookie which lasts for 24 hours. If he buys something within this 24 hours you get some % but you get higher % if the buys the item that made him reach the amazon page...
Yep, you'll get the commission for everything they buy for the next 24 hours. So even if they clicked on a link for a £2.99 book and ended up buying a £3000 TV DVD player and a bunch of cables, you'd get the commission for all those items! Pretty sweet how it works, although that doesnt tend to happen too often
