Unfortunately something like this doesn't exist due to PR having a strange algo. It's not a straight "this site has PR 5 so if it links to me I'll get PR 4!" there's a lot more to it than that :(

I'm the only person to my knowledge to have ever actually empirically tested the ratio, and my tests point to a base of 5. Meaning a 6 requires 5x more weight than a 5, a 7 requires 5x more weight than a 6, etc etc.

The experiment & results are here:

Guys don't focus to much on pagerank. My directory went down from a pr6 to a pr5 and now got up to a pr6 again. So many factors are involved in pagerank. Try to focus on quality content and decent traffic, news value and more.

People asking about how many backlinks you need.. Well read here http://www.jimboykin.com/site-backlinks, it's all about the serp! Check the following example:

    Check this query.. http://www.google.com/search?q=forums digitalpoint&hl=en

In the top 5 is my website look for http://odproject.org/seo/forum/digitalpoint.html, a pagerank 1 page with 3 backlinks from odproject.org, the homepage of odproject has total of 660 backlinks, the other places in the serp are taken by digitalpoint.com (ofcourse), searcheningejournal.com and stumpleupon.com, three websites with lots more backlinks than odproject but still I rank in the top 5..

Not bad ranking I'd say myself.. :)

It's all about the quality of the backlinks not how many and not the pagerank.

    Edit: more info:

Check this query in google: http://www.google.com/search?q=2yi directory&hl=en

Google shows as #1: http://odproject.org/directory/2yi.html (a pagerank 0 webpage) and the actual website is listed as #2: http://www.2yi.net/ (a pagerank 6 website)

    Good luck everybody

Exactly. I have seen many PR0 sites having top positions in SERP. My site is 9th in google (PR2) but it still beats many other PR4+ sites. This clearly explains that we need to focus a little more on the SERP rankings (this can be tuned by adding quality relevant contents)

Would I rely on that being even close to accurate? Not one bit.

Still makes for interesting dreaming :)

As mentioned I have 2 pr7 aswell as various pr2 pr4 and 2 pr6 links, that infomation is totally inaccurate

concentrate on the content not the PR, if your site offers quality content, something useful for your viewers, PR will automatically move up. :)

That information clearly states that it assumes 50 links per page.

PageRank passed through a link can be easily found by taking the PageRank of the page, divided by the links on the page, multiplied by the dampening factor. If you're only considering the PageRank on the page you're not getting the whole picture.

way to pick out very uncompetitive keywords to try to use them to make a point. Also, remember, that just because toolbar PR doesn't coincide with SERP rankings does not mean link weight is unimportant. Toolbar PR is your raw link weight, for the serps you need both link weight and link context, one or the other won't get you ranked well.

I know for sure that if you get a backlink from a PR6 page and your link is the only one outbound link in this page you got a PR5 without any other backlinks...
So is not the number of backlinks, but the quality of backlinks, for example if you have a backlink on a PR6 page you got a portion of this PR according to how many outbound links this page have. I suggest to all of you to use some seo software like seoelite in order to:
    1. See where your competitor got backlinks
    2. See exactly how much PR you got from your backlinks
