MSN not catching spam/dupicate websites

For my main search term, anywhere from 6-8 of the top 10 results are all duplicate websites. They are owned by the same person, many are hosted on the same server, and they all have identical content and contact information. The only thing they change is the domain name, site name, and colors. The layout is similar but also changes slightly. It's an ecommerce site and all product categories are identical, product descriptions and pricing are identical, etc...

It's been like this for about a year. The spammer continues to add new sites and they continue to get listed. Aside from filling out the msn spam report, which doesn't do anything, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of this spammer?

    THanks!

Well I would continue to file the reports with MSN, but one positive note is you will never have to worry about those sites on Google or Yahoo. At some point MSN will correct this but it mat take them some time. Be patient and I wouldnt spend to much time worrying about them. I would suggest that you consentrate on your sites and try to make your onpage seo better than the sites you are referring to. Content is King with MSN.

I was actually looking at buying a piece of office equipment for my business and did a search in msn for "roll laminators" and found that the #2,3,4 and 8 sites are absolutely identical with the exception of the domain name. Just look at the title tags and description, worse yet, go to the sites and see that they are in fact the very same. They didn't even bother to try to look different. When will MSN pay attention to this garbage. I've decided to search Yahoo! and Google as my primary search engines after this experience.

This shows that search technolgy is not mature enought. It has long way to go.

I continue to report them when I see them. I get pretty frustrated when I see the same site showing for the top 12 results.

I posted a thread similar to this in another forum and the moderator responded saying that some webmasters are proud to be able to manipulate msn in such a blatent manner. What do you think of that? I wouldn't want to risk having all of my sites banned from the engines. I think that a lot of people who see such results lose confidence in MSN and will look elsewhere or at least choose to go to a site that isn't duplicated several times on the first page. Let's hope MSN catches on to this and eliminates it so they can keep or increase searcher confidence.

I can see someone enjoying the high you get from dominating a search engine like that but eventually they will catch it and those doing it will be banned.

I rarely use MSN for that very reason - search engines have one main purpose - provide the best results possible - MSN often is not doing this. I hope they do improve as it would be good healthy competition.
