I'm sure people will do their own research before placing a bid on a site, and if they don't, then they might be lining themselves up for disappointment

(this is a general comment in response to 'ColaDesigns' and is by no means a reflection on this particular auction)

I've laid out every reason why the site price is what it is... I notice a lot of jumping up and down but not a single one of you can dispute my site valuation successfully.

I broke it down to kindergarten level for you in a post earlier and even put it in bold. Unless you have specific points to make you'll kindly not continue to make statements. Again unlike yourself I've backed up my points.

Speculation you say??? What's speculative about a:

DMOZ Listed
Traffic bringing
Revenue earning
active forum...

...with over $700 worth of software licenses and design work put into it?

Unless you can answer that you'll continue to be mocked here.

if you want to sell it.... sell it at a price that is based off of monthly revenue as is normal.

sure your site has all those things and has potential, but you should make it reach some of that potential if you want to sell it for $1000+.

You people talk like it's his duty to sell you this site for 10x earnings. It's his site and he can put whatever value he wants on it.

Personally I think ~$1k BIN would be fair rather than a starting bid, but it's up to the seller.

People would still make these stupid posts, name me a person that would buy a 0 traffic site for a couple millions (note the 6 zero's). We all have used all the other factors, why would we want to buy vbulletin and vbseo from him when we can on the other hand buy it directly from the provider and give them more funding to develop the software? The software should sell lower. $550.

 

OMG this thread is so full of trolls. I can't believe that DP allows this. They bothered to give me an infraction for bumping an auction...but it's apparently okay to act as complete morons and ruin someone else's auction.

What difference does it make whether you buy the licenses directly from the providers or you just take care of it all in the sale of the site? You still don't save any money! So how would that "give you more funding"?

Site SOLD (for more than the starting price) a few hours ago.

I was hoping the trolls would come back so I could toy with them some more but I've unfortunately got things to do so I'll move on.

The market will decide whether it's a good price or not, and notice that the market doesn't feel the need to post in this thread.

If you think the site is overpriced then don't make an offer. It's one thing to point out inconsistencies or lies, but George has been upfront as to what traffic the site is getting, what mods he has installed and how much he wants. If you don't want to meet his minimum bid then just STFU.
