I'm showing quite a few new ones for my new sites, some that I had expected are not there - I guess they'll show in the next update.

Not showing any updates to PR though.

My backlinks went from about 190 to 280 (mostly because of these forums) but no change in PR.

The Datacenter Quick Check shows Backlinks as well as PR for all datacenters simultaneously.

Just enter your url and select Check for BL/PR Update ;)

To echo DP's previous comment, that 22 should be PR6 (for those that don't know what we're talking about, do a "View Source" and look at the width of the GIF).

And I'm darn happy to see www.komar.org is 27 ... so maybe back up to PR7! ;-)

You don't have to go to GoogleGuy. We proved this on the McDar thread months ago. The PR/BL update has nothing to do with SERP placement. The SERP placement is adjusted all the time.

All these people waiting around for the update thinking that suddenly they will get a big jump in their SERP placement is ridiculous. If you are a reader of SEO forum you will know that there is always a great hue and cry after every PR/BL upgrade because the SERPs haven't changed. How many time do you have to read this before the truth finally dawns.

PR/BL updates have nothing to do with SERP placement. They are simply after the fact reporting by Google, and not very damn accurate at that.

Up only 20 BL's for me.

When are Google going to update the PR? Maybe the PR updater guy is on his Summer vacation.

I'm at a loss with the BL thing these days. In mid June update, we went from sixty something to 311 - which boosted our site from PR5 to PR6. In mid July update we went from 311 to 1,130 - and carried the same PR6...which is fine, for a fishing website, PR 6 is top of the line :) Then with this August update we went from 1,130 to 1,970 - another huge boost - but still looing at PR6...still fine...but starting to wonder a bit. I see other fishing websites with 25 BL and PR6....and one with just over 100 BL and a PR7.

I know it's all about the quality of the BL...but with almost 2,000 BLs, I was sorta hoping we'd see PR 7 :)

They are however derived from the same type of algorithms. SERPS have to deal with directed links using anchor text and the content of the linking page. PageRank is simply an indicator of the number of unique links (those from different domains).

Your placement in the search engine results should always change well before your PageRank does.

How many domains to you surmise your backlinks are spread out across? There is probably a dampening effect when the come from the same domain in excess. I went from less than 30 backlinks to almost 300 and there has been no PR change for me. Then again, with nearly 500 posts and most of those links coming from my signature on this forum, this shows us that it is most likely a dampening effect.

I've gone from 50 to 300 backlinks previous update and this time from 300 to 720 ... no PR changes though, it was a PR5, it is a PR5 and probably will stay a PR5 for some time.

It's not a huge move, but all of my tracked sites had a slight jump in ibl's. Not sure why they are so low compared to Y tho.

Aww, I was in the air on my way to Hawaii and missed out on all the fun.

Looks like the Ad Co-op is adding links.

The backlinks of my two sites went up several times, but I think real useful backlinks are still the same, just showed more.

My backlinks are way down; my SERPS are almost completely unchanged; my traffic is way up.

And... I know that my real link numbers have risen considerably.

I had one PR6 page ( from 20 backlinks ) which hasn't been updated in 4 months and it has a PR0 now.
