    haha

I got terminated after I asked why my ads weren't targeted, the day after I asked my question. for what? bad quality traffic.

    "
Unfortunately, due to poor traffic quality, we will be closing your Yahoo! Publisher Network account ID 1715521702 by Friday, January 26th 5:00 pm PST. In accordance with Sections 6(a) and 6(b) of the Yahoo! Publisher Network terms and conditions, we will not include clicks from non-U.S. users or otherwise invalid clicks in your payment. We have refunded amounts generated from the non-U.S. users and otherwise invalid clicks to our advertisers and will pay any remaining amount owed to you in accord with the Terms and Conditions."

I came, I banked, and then I left. It was a good 7 months.

    Non-Us traffic, poor conversions.

I'm sorry for your being terminated. Maybe when they are out of beta.

chalk another one up for termination after contact with ypn. sorry to hear that mvhs but this is becoming one big ugly pattern. call it coincidence, call it whatever, but in my track list, there are more ppl terminated after contacting ypn regarding some issue than those that just got terminated out of the blue.

ypns customer service may be great but, in my opinion, you take a big risk when you contact them.

Serves you right for letting foreigners visit your website.

You are a moron. Do you really think you can control your site to a point absolutely NO foreigners visit it? If so, you are the moron of morons. Even IP geo targeting isn't 100% accurate.

If Yahoo! doesn't want foreign traffic and they'll terminate publishers for foreign clicks, then Yahoo! should be the ones responsible for geotargetting. I think it's crap that publishers have to geotarget their own sites for risk of being booted from the network.

Geotargetting your own sites for increased payouts or better quality clicks is one thing, but when you have to do it for risk of being banned alone, I think it goes a bit over the line.

I have a feeling that the whole YPN will turn into crap. They are soo picky about who they pick as affiliates and who they keep. Google could care less...they are making money hand over fist with this approach. Yahoo needs to wise up.

IMHO, someone here is missing the point that YPN is still beta.
As in every other beta program, i keep sending them feedback about what I see, what i think should be improved, and other considerations.
I'm constantly messing up with ad position, targeting, colors and take note of the changes, and report it.
So far, earnings are the last of my problem. A beta is a beta, and for sure it's not perfect, but complaining because ads are not targeted, or they're paying crap wont help YPN and probably wont help you either.
Anyway, if I was YPN, i would not set up a beta with money but only credits for YSM..... Double return :)

How long has it been in Beta?
I mean really, a normal company could have gone through the whole Greek alphabet by now.....twice.

I think sooner or later YPN will have the option like all other netwoks including Adsense that allows publishers to show secondary. Adsense has three options, solid color, free public ads and of course publisher's secondary URL where u can show other ads.

As far as it matter, they can stay in beta forever.
As a publisher is not my business. Just follow guidelines and TOS and submit feedback when I see something strange.
Still better than MS that sells Alpha software LOL (I've just read they are building SP1 for Vista .....)

Sadly, I got kicked as well recently, for 'poor traffic quality', too.
I had it targeted to show for US only visitors, and wasn't breaching their TOS in any way, shape or form.
Still have a high 4 figure amount open with them..

Yeah, I agree with Tracy. Non-Us traffic, poor conversions is the most likely answer.
