Okay I making a site which on the face of it is very content based. I would like homepage with latest news and also an article system with comments. Is there a cms out there which has these things and is easy to edit and create a skin?

    I need:
Be able to add google adsense throughout articles + news
    SEO friendly CSS XHTML design
SEO friendly URLs eg no id=?13324 etc.
Easy add edit articles and news.
They are also separate eg frontpage only has news.

I was thinking wordpress but I am not sure about a few of the features above whether it has it or not. Note - I will also have forum section which will be VB but that should be separate from the main site.

Pricing aside would you suggest drupal or vivvo. Vivvo seems nice but if I used that the site would purely just have articles I write and news. If I use drupal its more likely I would try to add a forum. Also how do you add ads to vivvo?

I tried joomla before but it seemed really complicated. I didn't know how to customize the look and what features it had. Also are URLS SEO friendly in joomla?

No, URLS SEO isn't friendly in joomla.
You have to install some plugins to convert URL.
IMO, vivvo is very URLS SEF, but you have to pay for the license and until now there isn't free skin for it

I would go for Joomla. Takes time to learn the CMS sytem, but when you have done this, it's really simple to use.

Here's an example of how Joomla can handle articles, ratings, comments etc...
    I'd go for Joomla.
