i'm not talking about posters to post on your forum, rather, i'm talking about posters that go post on other forums, participate actively as members, then promote your products/services there. how much do these guys usually cost?
Hey Devin, I would exercise caution when asking for this type of service. I'm not sure #1 its legal as forums would be flooded with unreal bandwidth. I know there has been a lot of selling signature space and the like around forums as of late. But you may want to contact DP before creating a post like this. As to your actual question, I have seen people pay about 15.00 for 100 posts on any forum. Your forum or another so you can then use the Sig space. But please do exercise caution. I don't want to see you get in trouble for a small silly mistake. The best thing to do is review why you actually would want this type of service? Is it to gain more links and traffic? If so then this is not the best way. And its probably going to end up being more expensive then it would be for more traditional trusted SEO methods.
hmm i guess you are right. do you know of anyone who can do decent SEO work? i don't need the business-level $3k fee type of SEO companies.
I think Devin is talking about people contributing in forums and using his site as reference when appropriate and using his site in the signature. This is not flooding the forum at all... Why would he want to do this? To establish himself as the leader in his niche.
Hey there, sorry to say SubZero, but if DP for instance were my forum, I wouldn't want people making posts and mentioning others websites, especially other forums! So I would consider that spam myself. As to your question Devin, I am a SEO specialist and would be happy to give some prices and such VIA Pm, please let me know if its OK to PM you!
The best way to pay is per number of posts. For instance, 10 cents per post. Or, a flat fee for posting a link in their signature, perhaps.
what he said. i don't think it's consider spam unless those posters register and start talking about my products. they may need to spend a month or more in those forums before actually actively promoting my products. but then the costs may be too much, like SEO said. thing about SEO that i'm not too fond is, it depends on the SE. target the wrong keyword, and you're screwed. SE changes their algorithm, and you're screwed. but whoever wants to PM me can do so.
I know on a very professional level this is a service commonly provided by street marketing firms, but I haven't seen any guerilla level firms doing it myself. I've considered trying to set a small firm like this up by keeping forum posters on retainer and then paying them per post as well. You could recruit by relationship pretty easily across a variety of market verticals and demographics, but man it's a massive job to keep track of QC and people tend to pop in and out of forum existence for a variety of reasons ranging from loss of interest to banning. Without constant activity, the value of a poster's identity comes into serious question. I'm a maven on a particular political forum, but nobody gives a crap what I have to say here - I would need to post heavily for several months and always provide quality content to be listened to. Even still, I'd only have expertise in my particular niche, it's not like people would care what I have to say about SEO. On top of all that, just finding people who are smart enough to write what you need intelligently (or unintelligently depending on your target) while also being needy enough to write forum posts for a extra income is hard. The only group that fits is students and they lack expertise, but that's ok for a lot of consumer-level stuff. If you're marketing video games or educational offers then it wouldn't be too tough for students to fake. Get into specialty items like automotive parts or something and you're talking specialty knowledge to have any impact. Otherwise it's just backlinks, which are valuable, but not valuable enough for me to pay much for. I did see one guy advertising something related to this on the forum, but I didn't research it much. Here's a link to his post - hope it helps: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=108966
