Does anybody know something about that 950 ? It seems to be something new, ...kind of penalty? Thanks a lot
I wouldn't pay any attention to this, rudfolf. People seem to be seeing any change in SERPs and slapping a label on it. You would be better off worrying about the content quality/crawability of your site.
...well..., there is only a LITTLE problem!!! Since days I find some keys in that aerea, before they did well rank in the SERP's !!!??? There is going on a "big" discussion about that matter at WMW: http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/3215939-4-30.htm Thanks & reagrds
What are you trying to say here? I don't understand, find some keys?? I would pay very little attention to WebMythWorld, they are guilty of starting, many, many untrue SEO rumours. How old is your website domain? What niche are you targetting? What SEO have you undertaken so far? There are hundreds of reasons you may be ranking poorly, don't just blame the "off the shelf -950 penalty". Provide some more information and someone may well be able to help. Are you sure you're not in the sandbox?
I love reading the threads at Webmaster World. Every single one of the people posting about their site losing rank acts like they are the primo site on the internet for their search terms. With billions of pages I'm pretty sure there are some other pages out there that deserve the top 10. On a search phrase with 1 million results you have to be the top .00001% to be on page 1. While they may have optimized and beat the engines for years that does not mean they deserve to be on the front page, I'd wager most aren't even close.
Some of my "keywords" and as well "keyword" phrases they are all the way down to that "950" position or at the end of the SERP's. It's a travel related site, and some "keys" are real niche products! Sandbox..., no, I went thru that allready. Domaine: oct/2005! Ranking poorly... has for me another sympthom! I idd the normal SEO/SEM routines: title, H1/2/3, content, "some" KW density, BL, anchor text etc.
I have a site ranking #1 from 147,000,000 pages, for the 1 word core search term You're right though, quality content will always win out over SEO, it just attracts natural links like bees to a honey bank.
Congrats. I'm sure there are many webmasters with sites that deserve their rankings. If however you are posting on Webmaster World in the SEO section it's a pretty good chance you are trying to inflate your subpar site past all the ones that belong there.
Hehe, linkbait isn't always good content.. However, there is still a lot of value in "traditional SEO" as I don't believe SEs are really smart enough yet to seperate great content from SEO'd content. The site I rank really well for, I would say my competitors' sites are better in terms of quality and quantity of information, however I've spent the time researching, link building and laying out the content so for Google to suck up. If you had two sites with equal quality content, it would only be this "old school" SEO that would seperate them, you have to at least get the ball rolling.
I know... it'a a shame! But I cant post it, I am allready in big *hit because we lost all our traffic!
Can you pm it to me? I don't see how you can be in trouble for something you have relatively little control over... Perhaps you need to educate your boss in the finer points of SEO? (Or the basics?)
