In the FAQ it says: Can you restrict search engine placement to a specific language and/or country (www.google.de for example)? Yes you can. You can set your language and/or country restrictions by clicking on the 'Edit Preferences' link on the main screen. The country restriction is what the International versions of Google use by default. I'm not sure this is entirely correct. First of all, I'm able to set Single Country and Single Language in the Preferences. From the FAQ, it seems that Single Country, say Germany, corresponds to www.google.de. I think that it actually corresponds to www.google.com with the restriction 'site:*.de' added as a search term. This is not the same! I think the Single Language is implemented correctly: the restriction 'Return Results only in German' is added in Google. Am I right?
It just depends on how you are searching google.de, you could do it either way, so you would just need to set the settings however you search it.
No, I don't think I can search for pages appearing only in .de domains when using google, other than using 'site:*.de' in my search. I'm curious which search option KeywordTracker uses when I "Restrict Ranking To Single Country".
It's not possible to restrict just to .de domains (just like it's not possible with a normal search on google.de) without the site: command. google.de by default restricts to German sites (which may or may not be .de). For example, if you look in the top 20 for this search: http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&q=google&btnG=Google-Suche&meta=cr=countryDE There are .com, .net, info, domains included.
