    Tod,
I would recommend you use http://www.namecheap.com
The prices are reasonable and the support is great!
Here are some coupons for you:wcsspecial & happynewyear ($0.9 off).

The cheapest need not be the best in terms of service.
So take that into mind. Namecheap and Godaddy are tried and tested and reputed registrars.

    Yes cheapest is netfirms.
But I would recommend namecheap because of its simple checkout..
Godaddy checkout and payment is frustrating.

I bought my .org domain today off them for only $7.99 with the coupons, I asked them for support, via email (1-5 mins only!!!) Fast support, faster control panel than go daddy and free who-is protection for first year (worth ~$5) :D

i also recommend namecheap, i got the same price as giovanni with the coupons. The support is fast even during holidays and moreover easy control panel handling.

Cheap always has it's drawback. You can't change a lot of things.
    I prefer GoDaddy.

We use GoDaddy. It's not always about the initial cost (although GoDaddy are low anyway), but you need the confidence that they are going to hang around for a while, especially if you have names parked with them and they suddenly go out of business!

    Chose someone trustworthy.

Right - I agree with Multilingual. Godaddy is in the market for around 6 years+ and doing good business. It have never happened to me that I regged a domain there and went out of my hand because of any damn reason. This happens with netfirms/yahoo etc.
Also namecheap is a good one and my second choice...

I don't prefer GoDaddy at all and i don't recommend him to any of my customers
Too many bells and whistles, it's only the size and the brand
I clap my hands with his results but i had better support and luck with smaller registrars

DomainSite.com 6.99 using paypal (without any coupons, permanent pricing)
and Name.com gets my vote (both owned from the same people)
