I think you should quit your day job, spend what money you have and live month to month because adsense income has to be the most reliable thing on earth. :D

It really depends how much you're making with AdSense, you can't quit your day job if you're earning 2 cents a day, now can you? If you're are earning a 'sufficient' amount of money which was consistent with AdSense, then I'd quit your day job...sufficient to me would be about $4-7000 a month. It really depends how much you need to keep yours site running, or moreover, how much you need to keep your life moving.

Funny how the person who asked the question never came back here to give a response. I'd say it depends on what your job is. If you hate your job... sure - quit today. Otherwise there are other benefits that others have mentioned. If you think you can make AdSense your main business, then make a plan and stick to it to make it work.

I don't know how a person can have both a day job and maintain website(s) enough to earn enough from them. I quit my job and moved to consulting so I could work on my sites more. As my site income rises I do less consulting. I wish I had the same problem you do - to make enough off my sites to just stop working for others altogether would be great! congratulations on such nice earnings!

As I can say, if you are earning great from Adsense, then you should quit. However, it is vital that you don't just rely only on Adsense, just in case they decided to terminate the contract with you, which has happened to several webmasters before.

p/s: never put all your eggs in one basket.

Do some research to find an industry that has cycles of layoffs or is trending downward. Go get a job that you will be laid off from in the near future. Get on welfare (or the dole depending on your country) and pay for living expenses with government checks and have fun with the Adsense bucks.

Depends partly what job you do. If you work at the local supermarket and can get a similar job easily, fine. If you would struggle to find a similar job easily then I would think more carefully.

As lots have already said above, I'm talking about giving up work to make money online from a wide range of sources, not just from adsense. It would not be easy to switch quickly from adsense to affiliates, direct sales, etc, since the sites need a significantly different focus.

it depends on your earning and its reliability.
also if your job is good and you like to do it,why quit???
    also this guy,Amit Agarwal runs a blog,www.labnol.blogspot.com.
he used to have a reputed work position, but later he quit and became a full time blogger and he is making lot of cash monthly.he is even interviewed by the CNN

I gave up work a while ago due to offline business interests etc..

I find it a lonely existence at times, work offers alot of different stimulations that just your pc and web activities.

Plus adsense can ocasionally ban people for this and that. Google being a big company with all the power can suddenly change policies etc. and effect all earners.

If you like your job stay, if you hate it take a risk!!!

Please pray to God you will know what's will going on. Me too sometimes I would like to quit day job and do
just google ads but you feel is too risk right. If you feel like that don't quit day job until you feel you happy
and satisfy for ads thus quit the job.

    Good luck

    Cheers,
