I'm building a website and I would like to know if any of you guys know of a chat software that I could integrate in my site that would not require additional registration from members of my forum.

If not then what are the possible alternatives to a good forum that is inexpensive.

actually I'm looking for something with more features then chatandgo.

Something that supports multiple rooms private messaging, moderated chat, censorship and the likes. Plus I would like something I can integrate in my website.

you should go to freshmeat.net and search for chat, I'm sure you'll find a decent open source project

I have a number of chat sites with and without audio video.

I host them on my high end servers and are both java and flash driven.

Please PM me and I can give you more details.

Java chat? Flash chat? Ajax Chat?
    What do you prefer?

It's been a while since I last checked Real Chat and not sure about any improvements but from what I do remember they had a nice java pice of software. Not cheap though.
As for the flash option, I remember they had two options available on www.tufat.com, Flashchat and AMF chat (I think) both pretty nice and cheap.

    Give them a try.

I'm familiar with those two but I'll check them out anyway.

Which script would you recommend, java, flash or ajax? Sorry I'm new to the script world and I understand that Flash carries the most features is that true?

    - Flash chat would definitely be the most resource consuming option, you will notice your cooler speed up when loading it.
    - Java: I've seen lots of java chats, but Real Chat is the only one I'd pick if I were to go for a java chat.
    - Ajax chats: new technology, very promising.
    - Simple php chats: inefficient, not worth looking at.

    My opinion..

try this one http://free.bribble.com/ 2nd thoughts... this did not handle username integration...

i did purchase one from www.tufat.com (mentioned above) $5 and this did integrate with the usernames from the forum, worked fairly well, occassionally dropped some users, the bots were fun (well for five minutes!)

Does anyone know about userplane? www.userplane.com. They offer a free solution but I would have to allow them to advertise on my website. What would be the content of the advertisements?
