The Pagerank (PR) Thread

Yeah, it is kind of disappointing.. the site was doing very well and then all of a sudden it is wiped off the map. Oh well hopefully it will re-appear soon... The site was fairly new though, only about a week, and it was already ranking higher than sites like "thinksecret" for iPhone related stuff.

 

Do you have any idea what your talking about?!?! You may have meant "linksys" which is owned by "cisco" who is suing apple...

 

Ok it's time for me to get Coffee You are right - iPhone was Cisco's and IPxxx (which I don't remember) was Nortel's - I worked on collecting logs from the phone's memory - back in 2001.

I have found that alot of newer pages have got PR on this update as apposed to older more well-established pages, any body else seeing the same thing?

 

After checking out some other forums, it seems what you are saying is the general consensus. For example, this very new iPhone news site, www.iphonenews.ca, was ranked well above many established pages (like thinksecret and everythingiphone) for a few days shortly after its launch, but then this afternoon it went off the map. None of my other established sites received any PR updates though.

No, no update on my site.

 

ok guys now its been well over a week and Google hasn't settled down. I have my inner pages ranked from 0 to 4 and I have nothing for my main page yet. However indexed pages in Google have nearly doubled to 45K within this week. So what do I read from this? Just wait...?

 

I think G is having some problems with this update as it also required an infastructure update as well which might be giving them complications but as always it will eventually sort itself out

 

The persons who are now seeing updates on your sites, have you checked your sites daily and it was just today and yesterday you saw the update or you have just not been checking for a while?

 

I think google has screwed this update IMO

It even shows in the webmaster tool thing that I have PR, yet it still shows none. On my other site, it showed it had low PR yet it got a 5.

Not to mention all these people losting their SERP's

 

I have 2 sites that are currently redirecting that both now are PR4 like the site they point to. These 2 took longer to do this than a couple of others I have done. Weird.


ADDED: all redirects are for good reasons pointing to sites I own and not stealing PR or links from anyone else. I bought a name a competetor had used after they went out of business to point their old links to our site.

 

I don't think PR updated just yet, we should see final PR updates by February 1st.

 

Nor do I aspidov, I think the big Snapshot is still coming

 

i hope so but why i cant see anything on out sites. What google makes.

 

I believe it is still updating... if you haven't got PR yet... don't panic...
My blog preview page got PR few days ago and I just found out that my blog got PR... without "www" tho.. URL with "www" still don't have PR yet... I am sure they will catch up to it.

 

Maybe it is not finished yet.. but it surely seems to have slowed down a lot. The pages that i first saw updates on are still the only ones that have received updates. No new updates to any of my sites the last days.
