I am presently using site5 and is very happy with their service and pricing. But the problem is they dont allow link farm kind of scripts like topsites, kingofthebill, Word Links Pro etc...So I am looking for a new host exclusively for this purpose.

    Here are my requirements

Allow link farm kind of scripts
Multiple Domain Hosting at no extra cost
All standard features like PHP, MySQL DBs, FTP
    Subdomains
Alteast 5GB diskspace with 45GB monthly bandwidth
Budget - $10 or less, per month

Please reply if you know such a host. And kindly avoid hosts which you know to have prolonged down times.

I would recommend asmallorange.com, hostgator.com, hostmonster.com and some others. I am only recommending the ones, we are using currently. If you do not care and would not mind if we earn affiliate comissions on the sale, try my links to the above sites on www.mattshosting.com !!

Because of the type of traffic that ad farms generate, why don't you try a VPS instead?

Does VPS fit into my budget? Presently I have the costliest plan offered by site5. Since they dont allow hosting of link farms, I am on the lookout for another host exclusively for that purpose. I dont want to spend a fortune on that.

After comparing various plans, I believe dreamhost's "Crazy Domain Insane" plan is ideal for me. At $7.95 per month for 2 years, they offer 191 GB diskspace and 1.91 TB of data transfer per month!!!

Now, what about their service? How is their uptime? And did any of you test dreamhost with link scripts like kingofthebill, wordvertiser etc..? Do they allow such scripts?

I love dreamhost. I switched for GoDaddy to them and it;s awesome. Their connection speeds are A LOT faster than GoDaddys. Use the promotion code Febsale to save 50$ on any plan. Their support is great as well, but so is their support forum/wiki. The only issue I've had is installing a custom made script, but that is simple because in the scripts config file there was no where to type in the database name. This script never worked with GoDaddy either. Also, comparing DreamHost to GoDaddy, well, it only takes tops 1 min to create a mySQL database at DH that works while at GD it can take up to 30 mins, and half of the time they dont work.

if you are serious about your sites i do not recommend any of the oversellers for example dreamhost, godaddy, etc they are oversellers. So they load you up on a bunch of servers with thousands of sites plus you are limited on cpu which is especially important for sites like yours. I would recommend spending more money on a good host or you will regret it later. I currently have a server that I would be willing host some sites but I would want $15 a month at least it would be private plus no overselling you get what you pay for.

In my case, the traffic is going to be very very low as the sites are going to serve more like a PR boost resource than a banner exchange site. I wont be promoting those sites any where, I will be just linking to them to other sites in my network so that on the next update they get a better page rank.

So as I was saying, the traffic is going to be low, mysql usage is going to be low so why should I go for a dedicated server?

And Evolv5, thanks so much for the free coupon. I can't believe I am going to save $50 out of the $120 annual hosting charge.
