Thanks guys, this process was not powdercoated, it was painted. Powdercoating is impossible for plastic since it would melt it. When you powdercoat something you apply a coat of colored powder which electromagnetically sticks to the metal, then they let it cook in an oven which hardens the powder and melts it all together. I used regular high quality car paint and car clear. The same kind they use to repaint your car basically. This idea wasnt to make $1400.. it was actually to bring more attention to my growing PS3 website. edr: Yes I have a startegy to turn into repeat visits. I just finished painting a silver model ... PS3center.net will be releasing many colors and I will most likely setup a new section to the website where people can order they`re own custom PS3 A silver PS3 should be up on my website tomorrow ( SO HOT ) .. so stay tuned guys cause you`ll hear much more in the coming weeks from PCN! That white PS3 brought me over 100k hits. I noticed I have about 3k readers from my RSS feed alone, so slowly people are starting to see PCN as a major PS3 news source. However, the site is listed on Google News .. so that helps a little
I highlighted in red a couple of words you mentioned. You have a great idea for generating link bait and traffic but Now you need to find a brand name (in red) and stick to it

trust me .. not as easy as you think. You cannot use spray paint. It wont give you the same results at all. I've read many comments on many websites, and a lot of people bashed the work saying it was a 20$ job ... um no. House of Color car paint and clear. You cant get any better quality that that. Then the tools, the paintshop, the materials to sand with etc. Goodluck As I mentioned earlier, I just finished the Silver model, and I actually had to paint it twice because the first time wasnt great. I'm all about perfection. So I resanded it and repainted it completely. I will be releasing pics of the Silver PS3 tonight on PS3center.net... stay tuned

Well its not exclusive in that anyone else could do the same.... now Custom thats the word to use and seeyalaters idea of painting everything white is ok... but sucks when things are already white

The white and silver models have been already prototyped by Sony. Meaning that they "should" release them some day....
How has the response been to the silver? You should send a press release announcing the first silver and white PS3s. I imagine you would get a really good response.
Silver wasnt as big .. only 5k hits so far to the article. I`m guessing that it`s starting to become "older" news so it`s not hitting the major websites anymore. Either way, it's still gonna be a great business for PCN
Well maybe you can send a letter to Sony when they come out with the White and Silver color boxes. Hopefully they will at least send you a letter of appreciation back.
What do you mean by letter? I know I`ve created the hype for them and many people are eagerly awaiting the originals colors to come out now.
