I knew Google has said this was coming up but until now I had only seen 1 ad filling half the space (on DP) with the other half staying blank. This time it's one ad filling the entire space. Seen this before?
It does look cheesy in comparison to the usual AdSense ads. It also does look a LOT like a Coop banner. Has Shawn figured out a way to display Coop ads as the AdSense alternates instead of the public service ads?
I just saw one aligned to the left. And yes looks like a coop banner. I am guessing an advertiser has to pay more to have a whole half banner to themselves, does that mean they will be worth more per click?
I have seen some advertisers create image ads that look like text ads so they could dominate the whole ad space. I'm not sure if that is what this is, but it is one way to do it.
FYI - I just spoke to someone I know at Google. They're going to check and let me know if this has any impact for Ad-Words advertisers.
That's the point... When you see that ad on a page, keep refreshing... You will find 3 variations of the same ad... See the attachments for more examples... It's all the same ad, just a different layout.
Yes, I think we all understand that... What I would like to know, is whether there is any extra charge to AdWords advertisers if the ads are displayed bigger...
Not as far as I am aware. My contact didn't know about the change so she is asking an engineer for me.
Welll, I guess the fact that I can select the copy is kind of a givaway... I wouldn't say it unless I knew it was true
