Is anyone else addicted?

Discussion in 'Domains' started by Kalyse, Jan 17, 2007.

I have noticed recently that I have become addicted to buying domains. Atleast thats how I would describe it. I buy around 5 .com domains a week. I register new ones or buy from people.

Its ironic cause I know I dont even have the time to make a site, I just like the domain so buy it. I have about 5 different alternations of my own .com name domains.

Does anyone else feel like that just like the domain and buy it?

Today I bought another 5 domains because I couldnt decide which I liked better.

What do you think is the best.

    totalclancms.com
    cmsclan.com
    eclancms.com
    iclancms.com

You can probably tell its for a clan CMS I want to develop next year.

I dont know. Sometimes its not so bad.

I think the problem is that when I like a domain. I will then buy all different spellings. Hyphen including and then all TLD for it.

But then it sits in my Domain Control center untouched lol.

I have a lot of good domains though imho... mainly all focusing on gaming industry

Also, I buy them before I need them to stack up the date, is it true this will help getting out of sandbox?

When I started 1.5 years ago, I binged on domains to the tune of 700+...Hi, my name is Tim and I have a problem :)

It is quite common to do so actually. The next sensation you'll experience is that you have found the ONE domain that is worth a million.

Just STOP buying and start building. Oh, and stay away from trends and heavy speculation unless you want to "slip."

    Good luck!

All the time...it sucks actually. I'll look over afternic.com and sedo.com to see whats selling and then buy similar. Not so bright...but at two in the morning after a few brews, its a way to waste time. my latest is www.nudeseeker.com. Now that's a winner...I don't even do porn.:(

I have heaps of good domains, most of which I haven't developed.. mainly due to lack of motivation. Someday though they might come in handy :)

I've been completely addicted for about 3 years now. I need help. I started out buying 1 or two domains at a time, now I'm buying as many as 30 at a time. I'm spending loads of money just to renew these things.

I have started developing these domains though. This helps to pay for them and then some. Developing the domains is not that expensive or time consuming once you make the right contacts.

    It becomes a lot fun.

Hehe have the same problem, bought around 300 domains the last 3 months.

Only have had time to develop around 150 of them. Much easier to get ideas on what to do with sites than to actually completing the ideas :)

Wow! I never heard of people having domain name buying as a hobby :D
Some of you have 700 domains? Uh, renewing those domains alone could cost a small fortune, at least to me.

I have only two domains so far. Very tempted to buy a few more but hopefully it won't turn into a hobby :p

Is everyone else who is buying a lot of domains doing it as they plan to sell them or is there more people like me who actually plan to develop all those domains into moneyearning sites? :)
