I think there should be a way for the Reputation to increase with a Referral

I think referring new members is not really needed because there are members joining everyday. And I don't see how reputation is related to referrals.

Some useful posts will help you get more repuation. You could refere 1000 members without posting any comments what so ever.. Do you think you deserve repuation for those refferals.

The system we have here is very effective and this kind of implementations will only increase spammers here!

yea reputations should be earned by posts.
earning by referring is just like spamming any one can do with ease.
you won't get promoted in company by just bringing more useless customers but by your work and interest, helps towards your company and to your customers, same rules applies here.

Reputation increase because of your posts not because of referrals so if one want to increase your reputation you have to make good posts for that.

Finally.. :D The formula is very simple. Trust me it is true.

More refferal reputation points = more spammers + more dupe accounts. ;)
