Can any of you recommend a good counter/website tracker?? I use Webalizer for my server logs, and addfreestats as a counter on some of my sites now. I want an invicible counter that's not too expensive, and it should be quick and easy to use, so I can just pop in and check the most interesting stats when I'm online. (visitors, refferers, pageviews etc...) Addfreestats costs $75 pr year (for invicible), and the stats are ok enough. But there are a few bugs, and you can have max 1,000,000 page views pr month. (getting close to that now) Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. (is this the correct forum to post this? if not, coule you please move it?..)
Looks good.. I tried the demo, and it shows me the stats I'm looking for. But I just wondered about one thing, is it only possible to see detailed stats for the current day, or can you choose yesterday, last week/month etc..?? Can't find any info about that. And are you using the paid version? Their free version is limited to 250,000 pageviews pr month, and I've got at least 3x that much right now...
Redleg, unfortunately, you get what you pay for. We use indextools and it works great, but it's about $30 a month which seems to be the norm for a robust web based stats program.
For non hit-counter types of services (software that parses your logs), I would recommend WebTrends or Urchin.
I know I'll get what I pay for, it's (unfortunately) always like that... But Indextool would have cost me around $300-$400 pr month.. I guess I'll just stick with the counter I have now, and pay the $75 for an invicible one. Webtrends looks like a good log file analyzer, it's a one time fee of $495, right (small business)?? I may go for that one soon. Thanks guys.
Net-applications' Hitslink is the one I use - $99 sign-up fee and then from about $10 a month dependant on traffic. Been using it for a couple of years now and I don't know what I'd do without it. Stat obsession's not on Bob's List so it must be OK
Hitslink looks ok, but it would cost me $249.95 pr month... (7-800,000 pageviews pr month) So I think Urchin or webtrends are the best (and cheapest) alternatives so far.... How difficult is it to install them by the way?
