And that makes many online businesses possible. Offering instant money payment solutions is a blessing afterall, imagine yourselves mailing cheques and then waiting for days / weeks to get to use that money. We have to pay for what we get, and we do :)

Did you read my post ? I did say that paypal uses the bank rates and that there is a 2.5% fees which are levied with the transfer. I did even place a hyperlink to Paypal website as a reference to the 2.5% fees which they clearly state on their website.

Paypal computed that fees inside their exchange rate. So I am not wrong.

My sincere apologies friend. I said that in reply to your earlier comment. Somehow I missed this one that you made later...

I guess you posted it just seconds before I posted mine, probably that's the reason I missed it

I've opened a US$ bank account - doesn't have to be in the United States. Deposit PayPal payments to that account and convert to your currency locally. Foreign exchange is a competitive business and US$ is the most widely accepted currency. If you shop around you will certainly pay less than 2.5%.

Yes, paypal currency conversion charge is 2.5%. So, expect Rs.1.10p-20p lower than the rate provided by xe.com

I didn't get you. I know that you can open a Dollar account in your bank, but the problem is that Paypal wont send me the payment in Dollars here in India. They just convert it to the local currency,.i.e. Rupees, before sending the payment. There's no option of getting it in US Dollars there orI myself would have done that

Bear with it..considering that we get to use paypal for free, I'm all for it. I seriously don't mind paying a little extra for the fees when I have sales coming in. If I have to pay monthly fees and all, I probably wouldn't even touch it at all.

My point exactly, paypal is free and we have to accept that it doesn't charge monthly fees and that makes it more accessible than other options available.
