Go for the .com. The domain extension means nothing whatsoever to Google, not even .gov's before anyones decides to bring it up (source).

it doesn't matter to the search engines but I think a .com domain is easier for the visitors to remember.

.com always if you can register it. like oseymour said the vast majority of people use .com version of a site than anything else.

A domain TLD doesn't matter when it comes to SEO, only helps for local SERP's

Definitely go for .com if it is available :)

Back to SEO, domain extension does not matter.

    True
While there isn't any real difference in the ranking of an info and a com, the com has an edge in type in traffic. Both work on the same principles of good content, backlinks, age etc.

Go for the .com anyday unless your site is about providing some information where .info would go very well with the site. In terms of SEO it doesn't matter if it's a .com or .info.

    What about .ca?
Marketingwise it makes a difference to Canadians
but does it make a difference to Google?

It won't make difference to Google, but it will make difference for people.

    .com is good.

There is a difference for geographic domain extensions. E.G a .co.uk site will be shown before a .com site if user is using google uk. note this is without using the "pages from the uk" option.
