You will get one for this thread too because

    1) You started it in wrong section
    2) It doesnt really serve any purpose :D

Read the FAQs and follow the rules you will not get any if you follow rules :D

I think you are mixing it up infractions with reps. You only get infractions if you do something against the rules and there should be an explanation infront of that infraction on why you got it :)

"Cost" of giving red reputation to someone is -1

how is this control over the forums if i am getting hurt to? might as well get rid of that system..

That is rep not infraction. Read the FAQs :)

That system is in place to prevent people from red repping without reason and to abuse the system. I personally think it is fair :)

Infractions are given if you did something that's against the rules. Read this thread for more info: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=216611

Now for the red reps, that's the way the system works. You will be deducted 1 point for every red rep you give. I'm not sure what's the purpose of that. But this system will definitely make a member think twice before giving out a red rep.

It's automatic mate :) Just to prevent users from giving reds without any good/solid reason. It's quite fair though I got it two times

When you get 10 points worth of infractions, then it is something to cry about.1 won't do any harm, and it will expire in due course.

There are lots of other things to do than this :)

This system was put in place to deal with people who continually gave out red reps. More than a few members dropped into the minus figure for their own reps after that got put in place. Although I don't recall exact figures I believe at least a few members went several hundred rep points into the red.

To protect the abuse of reputatin system of DigitalPoint forums, the cost/price to give someone a red rep. is -1 rep. of your as well.

If there would be no cost at all, everyone would give out reds whether he deserves or not. Like if it wouldnt be there, I can give out red ereps to everyone as well, and then you would see a red block in place of green everyone has:)
So, simply to protect this "ABUSE" cost has been placed at -1

I hope you've got that

Stop being childish arcguy! Go on with your life... There are a lot more things to worry about than few reds. I guarantee you the you'd be receiving more reds from other members if you don't stop.

Very young children often mispronounce the letter "r" as "w" when they are learning to speak. :D
