I just started helping my SEO clients purchase text links from good resources but I'm getting concerned about keeping track of the links (and their validity). Does anyone know of a good link tracking program?
Yes, I've just mentioned the backlink checker offered by online-utility.org in a different thread. It is very good. Every morning I use it to check for new links to my site - I also notice when links disappear. Give it a try - hopefully it'll be useful for you too.
I just made an Access table for Sales I made One table for Link Purchanse One table for link Exchange One table for 3 way links They can be clubbed together, I just thoght it would be easy. Every now and then go and see what is coming to renual etc. Track the url in, url out, start date, Expire date -- user sold/bought Price etc. You may use the some thing like this. Does't cost anything and easy to use. Thanks
I do not need any software to keep track of proprietary links. Either an Access or Excel database does the job for me most of the time. The table names are yours to decide, I am sure you can imagine them (i.e. Incomming URL / Outgoing URL / Signed Date / Validity Date / Price / Contact / etc) Regards

Like I said, I don't know if I would consider using any automated solution or paying for any similar one... I can do it by hand and I am used to this, I trust my own databases more then anything. At least this is my prefference, I hope you will not judge me for that Regards
Yea but I'm getting inundated with work, manual checking is going to only get more difficult as I acquire more clients.
Thats what I initially did for my job. But I found trying to manage hundreds and hundreds of links got to be very cumbersome. So I designed a system that automatically keeps track of them for you, verify's the links are there, ensures the page isnt being blocked to the search engines, and checks that Nofollow isnt around the links. To try and do this by hand would be very time consuming.
