Yes no matter how you 'dress it up' Beckham has to call the shots, hence why is he shown the exit door at the clubs he has played for

Money is his god ............... his wife is his boss ...................... his agents do what she says as long as it is to do with making money  she will approve

Include Canadians and fans of the Socceros in that question. There are about 400,000,000 people who use the term soccer in total. :D

You would do the game a favor by calling it soccer. Football as played in the NFL, CFL, college, high school, and youth league is only known as football so trying to force soccer's old name into a market where soccer hasn't succeded yet is unwise. Beckham may help the Home Depot Center sellout to 27,000 while a few miles up the road the two local college football teams will be playing to over 200,000 fans at the Rose Bowl and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The English come up with the name soccer in the first place. Why are they so insistant on going back football?

Maybe that could be because some of the FA who run the game in UK say the name is football

Or maybe it is because the members of the FA have a brain the same size of Beckham's brain ........... think pea as in 'pea brain'

What does FA stand for? Football Association or Soccer Association? :)

In Croatia we call "soccer" "nogomet", which means "football",
and "football" is called "americki nogomet", which means "american football".

My point is that the sport should be called like it is called in the country of origin, in this case "football" - foot+ball=football
american "football" is more like "rugby" with shields and helmets to me :)

Anyway, back to Beckham... My conclusions:
    1. He went to LA because the Hollywood is there and it was not his idea, Vicky told him to do it
    2. He has enough money and I don't think money is the main factor (read #1.)
    3. He could have played in Premiership and I assume he wanted it but... (#1)
    4. I think he is a good guy with excellent free kick and he really is a good player and he has his place in English national team (I am sorry he hasn't played vs. Croatia, it would be better to win with him in team :) )

    5. I wonder how long would it take to be announced that Beckhams are new members of scientology church :D

The Beckham Zoo starts the move out of Madrid

Goldenballs was desperate to stay in top flight football in Europe.

But he was persuaded to go to America by wife Victoria, who convinced him it would mean a better life for them and their three boys.

    ----------------------------------------------------------
a bra-less Victoria was boarding a Heathrow flight to LA to hunt for houses. A friend said: "As far as she's concerned, the move can't come soon enough."

Setting a good example for her boys she cares and protects so well by pushing them into the limelight day after day

The chav now has to show off her silicon tits
See them both of the silicons on show here:-

But that's not the market we are talking about, is it? And that is disrespectful of the Canadian game. :(

No but you could always call it English football or something instead of changing the whole name. Soccer just sounds dumb and doesnt describe the game. I dont think the American audience matters much though, say even if it got 30% thats nothing to the billions it has already.

Beckham, wow what a huge deal. 128M that's crazy! I think he will do okay in America, Beckham isnt the fastest which is why he struggles in the Spanish league. Spain has a quick and very active type of playing. While America is slower in my opinion.

    But I wish him luck!

There is no question fegie realised from this point, even in his prime(99),if you remember the champions league final when keane was out, beckham was hopelessly out of his depth in the centre of midfield aginst top class players.[SAF had to play him as there was no other cover] Anyone who tried to do the same since [at the start of his madrid career] has also been made to look silly and been forced to recognise the only place he could play was on the wing where his limitations could be covered up.

Although, in the US it doesn't really matter... but for many people who think SAF chucked out becks as an ego battle, they are SOO WRONG!

Yes SAF got a good price for Beckham and the reality is that he was no longer good enough to play at the level we at United expect from our top players
And we are only the supporters, SAF wants more than us and rightly so, so United took the money and he went to Madrid where he has been what he is these days, average

He is an average player with a huge brand and all the baggage that goes with it

Now he's pretty average, but in 02-03 when he left he was still top class IMO.

He could definitely have done the job for us if not for his tantrums.!
