    Hey,

I've had a lot of success with Adsense CTR and CPM recently. I want to help others as well, so here's the deal.

    1. PM your site url
    2. I'll review your site, and reply with overall placement/ad suggestions on your site.
    3. Make necessary changes, and watch your earnings go up.

That's all there is to it!

That's a nice service to offer for your first post, although it seems suspicious that you're offering a free service and you want it conducted via PM and have site owners reveal their site to you and you only have one post. Other then that, that's nice of you.

    First site to review is

    http://www.bladeauctions.com

Make sure your visitor can see your ads. Make them highly visible when they enter your page.

This site only has 2 banners that are positioned next to each other. This is not beneficial at all.

We must turn ourselves into "the visitors" when we evaluate our sites.

    My suggestions.

    1. Use 2 460x60 banner on your home page

    2. your ads are barely readable. Make the text and url of the ad the same color - black.

    3. Blend the ads. Don't use a contrasting background. Go with a simple white ad background.

    4. Use the human brain's tendency to relate similar items to your advantage, now take a step above this.

Make your ads title slightly darker than your site links. I would go with standard blue website links (maybe #0000CC) then make the adsense title #000099

    5. Remove uneccesary clutter around the ads - leave the images, but get the View all categories button away from your ads. You're losing clickthroughs

    6. Swap the categories and ad section. Most people's eyes tend to float towards the left side of the page. Take advantage of this and move your adsense block to the left, and the categories to the right.

Bonus Tip: If you can truncated your right side search navigation, adding a 460X60 would also increase earnings.

    1. your blog layout is somewhat confusing. I would clean it up so everything aligns top to bottom. My eyes had to jump around too much

    2. the link unit is alright under the navigation, but make the green color carry over all the way across the page. Get rid of the white border next to the link unit.

    3. make the ad title darker than your normal links on the home page.

    4. Reposition the ad unit on single page. Move it closer to the content so users can find relevant info immediately. No one scrolls on the way down the page on a blog.

    5. Place a vertical ad unit 125x125 at the bottom of the page near your categories bar.

Overall: again, act like you are viewing your blog for the very first time. Be honest, and ask yourself "is my design easy to navigate? and are my ads placed in relevant positions?

    Then adjust accordingly.

    1. Video games ads don't generate a lot of revenue (especially through adsense) so you may be using the wrong advertising model. Think about what target audience you are advertising to:

    1. Techies
    2. Teenagers
    3. Video game lovers
    4. mostly men
    5. Age range: 12-35

So with these demographics in mind, you would make more money with affiliate sales.

Why do you have American diabetes ads on your site? Is your average visitor a senior citizen female? remember: targeting, targeting, targeting.

Try an affiliate with Game stop, Electronic arts, wal-mart, etc.

You want to advertise places that provide relevant content to your target niche.

So try Commision Junction, or simply go straight to an advertiser's affiliate program.

    2. Adsense is your secondary revenue model

Tips: get rid of the big ad at the top of the page. Nobody visits your site to click ads before playing the games, so with that in mind, move your ads in between PUZZLE GAMES and SPORTS games.

Why? because lets say I'm playing a puzzle game, am done, and back click to your home page. I may be looking for more games, that arent offered on your site. That's where you'll place the ad...where people are looking.

Color scheme: make the adsense titles darker than your normal links

link unit: nice link unit, but make sure you BLEND in it. So change the link background to the tan background color of your sidebar.

Overall: you have a great site, in fact I played street fighter and loved it! brought back memories of my childhood.

I would say rethink your revenue model - ad affiliates because that will make the most money, place ads strategically where the users are looking, and watch your money roll in.

It's not totally free. I get to hone my marketing skills by reviewing sites and providing suggestions.

It also helps me market my own websites because I increasingly become better at analyzing web pages, determining the best locations for ads, and separating useful ads from non relevant ones..

I think I'm going to start a blog on marketing pretty soon.

    Thanks for the comments, giovanni.

I run an investment blog, www.investortrip.com, that doesn't get much traffic or anything.

I don't make that much from adsense either. Only about $100 a month, but I have increased my CTR's by 400% over the last month.

I've read a lot of sources on adsense, and have noticed what works well. But I lack the knowledge in building traffic.

Right now - including all my advertising, I earn about $35-$40 per 1000 visitors.

So if you know how to increase visitors, please let me know.

Also, don't go 100% on my advice. The best way to increase earnings is to read A LOT on ad optimization, use trial & error, and stick with it.
