Gmail is a lot slower than normal

Gmail has been really slow lately in the past few days. There was one day when I couldn't even access it because I think it was down.

Is anyone have problems with Gmail?

Yeah, I've noticed that it seems to be getting slower by the day.

Also now, annoyingly, it often badly judges where the message ends when reading your mails and you miss out the last line. So you wonder why you loved one isn't sending you xox's at the bottom of each mail... AND SHE IS! Just google is clipping the message.

I was sulking for ages til I realised that... :)

    Cheers

    Chris

Lucky you. I don't have Gmail yet, so I'm using Yahoo. I only get 70% of files mailed.

It's free but you need an invite. Just an annoying marketing scheme.

Though, I have been quite pleased with it.

Understood, but my point is... It's FREE, so who cares if it is slow. It is FREE. My guess is the overwhelming popularity, the fact that we now have double digit invites, vs., the 4 or so they used to allow. When they were gone, they were gone. It's likely getting a bit loaded up.

But again, it's free... So why even complain about it?

Ah ok, I see what you're saying. Yep, it is a free service and I suppose we really shouldn't complain about it. :)

If you read my post, I wasn't complaining... I was asking if anyone else was experiencing the same problem.

Also, I do not totally agree with your point. Yes it is free, because I am fine with them scanning my emails and putting ads up next to my emails. They make money off of me using their "free" email service.

I started using Gmail because it was faster, more friendly, and more intuitive than other webmails. But hey, it's still better than any other webmail so I'll still be using it. :) I just hope they fix the problem.
