My sites suddenly no longer verified in Google - Normal?

Discussion in 'Google' started by andheresjohnny, Jan 10, 2007.

I just noticed in the Webmaster's Tools that all my sites that were previously verified are no longer verified.

Does Google make webmasters re-verify every so often?

    Thanks.

Yes, they do that every so often for some reason. Just wait it out.

Its a flipping pain in the arse.

One would think they could give a better error message such as "service unavailable at this time" instead of leaving us thinking, crap is my sitemap broken?

Yes, well they do give a free service.
Personally I don't bother checking sitemaps that often either. It's good for researching keywords, but the adsense stats (for search) are actually better for that in many ways (I recently found out).

Yes they sure do but with so many hicups I decided to pull the plug on using this service.

If I wanted a company service to annoy me so much I would use Yahoo for everything. (sorry thats off topic).

Hey guys, this happened to me earlier today. My site suddenly was not verified, and when I tried to verify again, it gave me a big fat Google error! Don't worry, just give it a few hours and it will go back to normal, verified and all. That's what mine did!

I had the same problem. When I tried to reverify, I gain only error from Google. Now it is OK.
