This may not be the best place for this thread but I have a few questions.
Like what is Overture? I see it mentioned all the time. I guess I'm looking for guides or even books that'll give a newbie such as myself some info. I've bought three domains that i thought would have traffic and dont get any at all and then I see others that I can't imagine getting type in traffic not only getting traffic but some actual money. I'm so confused.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Overture is used to get an idea of the type in traffic of a domain

    Overture.com is a search directory.
But most often the term usually refers to a valuable keyword selector tool that Overture provides.
This tool gives you the number of times a particular word or phrase is searched for in a month. In addition, it also gives you related searches.

You can find the tool at http://inventory.overture.com
Example if you type in: hard disk
you will see that it was searched for over 17,000 times in Nov 2006

It's more like "a particular word or phrase is searched" on Yahoo.com "in a month".

Books are good but usually outdated. Trust your experience and learn from your errors

This industry moves fast and unfortunately it's not a week's reading to catch up

What sounds good to your ears is not the same with everyone else
Type in traffic domains are rare (at least the good ones)

Right on. Sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to learn anything. Green rep added Domnom.

    Hi FA

you've asked a question about parked domains, well what you're looking for is people who type in the complete name of your domain into their browser address bar

I am afraid that 3 domains, unless they're very high value generic domains or a lucky combination of initials are not enough for parking income

I know, because i've recently parked like 20 decent(i think) domain names an for the first weeks, hardly any impressions, the i added a few more an then impression are slowly accumulating, an hey, $0.30 earned in 2 months :)

Anyway, the examples given by the parking company to illustrate their revenue model casually refers to 500 to 700 domain names,,,,

So, me is seriously wondering if this parking lark is a good idea for me, but one can't develop every domain so, parking is necessary,

500 domains tho, , tis a bit of an investment in time and ,,, everthing else
