Differing pagerank

Can someone please explain why I get a different pagerank on my new site www.fotoviva.co.uk by using different methods?

Using Google toolbar it gives me 0/10 but using the Seomoz page-strength tool gives me 1/10

    Perhaps I'm currently inbetween :p

Google have lots of data center to cached webpages so when u access pr through google tool bar it accesses from different data center where google store info with pr0 and when u go for seomoz it access different data center where google store info with pr1.so u will get different result in both.now a days google data refresh is going on so wait for some days you will get pr1.

    cheers

    PR is probably updating.

The best thing to do is ignore PR, it has no effect on anything.

oh, so what is all the fuss and discussion about PR then? I am a newbie so please be nice but I thought search engines such as google would put your site higher in the results if you had a higher PR than another site?

No effect on anything? It certainly affects how much your site is worth!!!

It does on this forum. Personally I tend to look at traffic and earnings rather than PR.

    I agree :)

Traffic and revenue is the ultimate target but some webmasters are selling high PR text-links for profit. Therefore, creating a buzz in PR :)

From what I see,PR only depends the backlinks to your site, but PS(PageStrength) depends on many factors (PR,links from del.icio.us,links from edu sites, the age of your domain, ect)
You can read this article for more details!

BTW mad4, earnings depend on traffic and traffic depends on PR, so ultimately...
its the PR that matters most... :)

Where did you hear that? Traffic has nothing to do with PageRank.

Traffic comes from search engines (mainly google). High PR sites rank higher in search engines. If you make a directory (PR0), you cant expect traffic until it reaches PR4 or more... :)

    Sorry, but thats not right.

Traffic depends on where you rank in the search engines for certain search terms. Rankings have nothing to do with PR.

Maybe... but so far I haven't seen any PR0 or PR1 site getting loads of traffic from search engines.

But there are thousands of PR4 sites that get more than PR6 or 7 sites.

Yeah, but they are PR4 not PR0 or PR1 (PR4 is not so bad after all).
