    Hi,

For a certain search phrase we're number one in google. Which is cool. This phrase is along the lines of: product townname

Go to google.co.uk and we're still number one. Click the "pages from the UK" button and we're nowhere at all. Not on any page. I checked them all. Is there a way to tell google the page is in the UK? (other than a .co.uk address, but I don't want to do that, besides for some parts of the site International people are welcome because not all the content is just UK).

Any ideas? A quick search on google, and in these boards didn't turn up what I wanted.

    Cheers

    Chris

Wow. I didn't realise that. Hmm. That's annoying (but I guess from thier perspective, reliable).

When I hit that page of yours with a URL, it says:

    Location of madeupdomain.com
    Country: United Kingdom
    Region: -
    City: -

Then it goes on to say:
From my calculations, you are physically in: Boston, Massachusetts - United States

Are you getting the first bit from my actual location?

    I guess so.

    Anyway, cheers!

    Hi,

Nope, I've got it now. The physical location is determined by my proxy. Bizarrely the UK proxy here at work tells you I'm in Boston and the Dutch one places me in Santa Clara.

Even more weird is that your tool tells me that my server IS in the UK and I don't think it is. The server guys certainly aren't in my timezone...

    Thanks. That's a cool tool.

    but not in google.co.uk).
