Hello Bros, I dont understand the second chance offer thing on Ebay. Care to explain? Eg if my products is for reserve price of $100 and the highest bid was $90. By using second chance do they get the buy price as $90. I mean will I have to sell it $10 cheaper? Thnaks for looking!
If the item has a reserve it doesn't sell. The second chance offer is for when you sell something to the highest bidder, and he doesn't pay so you decide to sell it to the second highest bidder's bid price.
Second chance is not used in reserve situations. Only when the winning bidder does not complete the transaction.
Thanks for the replies. So I will have to sell to the second highest bidder at his bid price right? So if he was at $80. The buy price is $80 (i.e. $20 cheaper than original). Right?
You don't have to sell to the next highest bidder. You can always relist the item. If you do give an second chance offer you go to the bid history for the item and next to the next highest bidder you will see "send second chance offer" or something like that. Ebay will send a notice and the bidder will have so many days to accept.
Oh that was something that i never understood, so i glad i stopped by. jnrcorps http://www.ebooksrback.com
Neer buy second chance offer through your e-mail - might be a scam. Ebay wouldn't care if your item will be not delivered. always use buy now button in ebay website.
So very true. I have started thinking that they are no longer reliable. I had only 3 sales out of which 2 were fraud payments from some people from nigeria (Sent me some spoof email saying that paypal payment wouldnt reflect in my account until I sent the tracking number!). Listing fees gone waste!
At the end of the day you dont have to offer second chance. Its up to you if you want to accept a lower offer, no one can demand you offer second chance.
