Too little too late as always. Thank you for the response though.

As a suggestion for next year if I may, put nominations for awards in their appropriate sections. This would have gotten a lot more attention if it would have been in the Marketplace. I don't see how it relates to General Chat at all.

Perhaps a new section is in order:
Digital Point Forums > The Digital Point > News & Announcements

I vote for greg-j even if its too late ... is there a nomination link? As many good sellers as there are on digitalpoint, I'm still really surprised a contest like this wouldnt include him. Oh well.

Yeah, so here's what I did.

I went to a bunch of proxy sites and signed up a bunch of fake accounts and then tried to pretend it wasn't me to try to get me listed....

Seriously Shoemoney. If you paid any attention to the section you posted this contest for you would know how silly that sounds. If you're interested I could show you the dozens of PM's from people that start off with "I signed up on this site just so I could contact you to purchase your product". People who, imagine this, have 0 posts.

So it would seem logical that if this were their first post, they would have 1 post would it not?

I spend my time in the Marketplace. The people that buy from me spend their time in the marketplace if they spend time here at all. Simply because I and they do not spend our days chatting in the General Chat section is a pretty poor reason to not be included in the contest.

So. Amazing? Hardly. I think you overestimate the importance of these forums to a lot of people. I'm not saying I don't value Digital Point, because I do. And if you knew anything about my time here on DP you would realise that I have spent a considerable amount of my time doing nothing but trying to make the Marketplace a better and more honest place to do business. I sent a PM notifying people of this contest as I honestly feel I deserve to be included, if not win.

Do not doubt my honesty, integrity or sincerity for a minute though. There's 748 members here who know otherwise. If you want to question me or my values, do so via email. You have my contact information and I have made it very clear that I will respond to you.

Come on guys. Let's stop this flaring of nostrils. I mean, seriously. Who cares about this competition that much anyway? I conduct some pretty decent business here and in other online places and quite honestly don't care if I never got nominated for anything. If I did or didn't, it would not alter my business revenue one iota.

If it's just the trophy or chest pin you are after then go for it. Bludgeon each other with sarcastic and accusatory missives. No one's listening....:D..Well, maybe a few are...LOL

Both of you are admirable businessman. It's a shame that you are both lowering your integrity a smidge over nothing.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Col :)

In hindsight it is kind of silly, I'll give you that much. But when a Moderator - especially one with as high a profile as Jeremy - makes a seemingly accusatory statement I feel compelled to respond.

I take these forums a bit more seriously than others, true. But is that really such a bad thing?

Well, I'd give Greg my vote simply because his support is great and he runs a very honest operation.

When you purchase a site the onus is on the seller to aid in the the transfer, the domain push and get you setup. But after that, there's not *usually* much else for them to do.

However, when you sell a script and support package, you make a much larger commitment for the entire duration of the time that your customers use your script. It's rare in the online world for a business to offer and provide genuine ongoing support like this and not charge $$$$.

So maybe we need two different contests or something but as long as we're lumping them all together my vote goes to Greg. :)

Well if thats the case i think me and honey both of us didnt emal our clients to give us a vote.
People dealt with both us, and they nominated and now voted for us.
I think there is no mistake by shoemoney here :)
Everyone gives support to their clients and if i email all my clients now i can get more than 300 votes and unlimited positive replies but yes who cares about all and is there a need for us to get someone here to support us? :)
