My New Ebay Store

My teacher told me this would be a good site to get marketing tips. I just created a new EBay store, the cheapest one of course. Any help you can give me to drive traffic toward my site would be appreciated. It's been 3 days and I don't see that anyone has been there!

    Thanks.

    freerider,

You need to read every post in the marketing forum (general marketing, search engine optimization, link building) going back for the last 60 days.

When you finish you will know how to drvie traffic to your site.

Your better off creating your own store instead of an ebay one and try driving traffic to that, ebay has crimminaly high charges eveytime someone buys something.

True their charges are high but for a beginner Ebay stores is the right way to go. Get your feet wet in Ebay and then you can grow your business into your own store.

    Hiya Freerider,

Here are some eBay store related tips to get you started.. I've just started my store as well and am in the same boat as you, so I'm collecting anything useful and putting it in an autoresponder so I can do the tips once every 3 days :)

Google Base Store Connector (BETA) puts your eBay store items directly in Googles search results. http://base.google.com/base/storeconnector

Include your Store URL in any and all email correspondence.

Don't have store items only, especially if your store is new. Upload your items to normal auctions as well. I upload 2 of each item, one in the store, and one in normal auctions, then I have my Selling manager automatically relist if the item sells, and if it doesn't sell, then it stays in the store.

Include your Store URL in all your auctions as well.. a "Visit My Store" or even "Buy this item Cheaper in my Store" will get more people visiting your store from your normal auctions.

Submit your Store to Froogle (provided by Google)
In eBay go to "Manage Your Store" -> "Listing Feeds" -> "Make a file of my Store Inventory listings available" -> Apply.

Create an About me page on Ebay so you can promote your store.
    http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/about-me.html
In every listing you put up, refer them to your About Me page.
You can also put webrings on your eBay About Me page, as well as autoresponders, etc to follow up prospects. You can also add Custom Pages to your store.

Reciprocal Links - Join up with other eBay Stores who sell merchandise that compliments your own. eBay allows you to link to up to 10 other eBay Stores on one of your Store pages. You can also join cross-promotions with other sellers (although haven't succeeded in getting anyone to join a cross-promotion with mine yet).

    Buy eBay Keywords - https://ebay.admarketplace.net/ebay/servlet/ebay

Optimize your store for search engines (the name of your store for one)
Include better keywords in your listings. Make your categories SE friendly. Also in store manager you can insert keywords into your store.

Make an RSS feed available from your storefront:
    "Seller, manage Store." "Listing Feeds."
Under "RSS Feeds," select "Distribute your listings via RSS."
An RSS button will now be located at the bottom of your storefront for others to subscribe to... and for you to submit to related sites.

Create a free blog and review your ebay products in them. USA Peeps can have their blog on eBay.. I'm in Australia so it won't let me use it :(

Be active in the eBay community.. write reviews.. do your World page.

Be active in the rest of the community.. write articles.. and have your tagline to your store url using your store referral code.

Those tips should keep you busy for a while! hehe.

The autoresponder that I'm doing (the one that sends me any tip that I find every 3 days) is available on my eBay about me page. (I dont sell a single thing in it at all it's just got any eBay store traffic tip that I find in it, so I can implement them myself!). http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/signupau

I'm always looking for more tips to add ... so if you find anything useful, lemme know :)

And feel free to email me privately if you wish..

    Kind Regards,

    Penny
