    The number of spammy sign ups on my forums has increased four fold since I became active with DP. Still, the benefits of being part of this community outweigh the increased spam; simply delete the offending messages and don't give it another thought.

    This is not the kind of thing to say without strong evidences, imho, you'd better think before telling such a thing.

    As slava demonstrated it, no need to buy DP's email database to know yours.

    For those if us that want others to be able to E-ail us, how about just changing it to use the form instead of being pro SPAM, making the E-mail address public just by going to for example

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/sendmessage.php?do=mailmember&u=6

    It's a really nice way to help the SPAMers!!!!!

    Well you have to be a logged in user to see it, so it's not like a spider can spider it.

    I don't know if it's changed since the 3.5 versions, but at

    options.php?do=options&dogroup=email

    vBulletin Options --> E-mail options!

    It has....

    Then members can't register to get our E-mail addresses to SPAM us. They can only E-mail one member at a time only using the form.

    They will only get our E-mail address if we reply!!!!

    So the emails arent being shown in the user profile anymore?
    (i dont understand why would they be showing in the first place. stupoid idea.)

    anyway, so did spammers spider all the DP users or just messaged them one by one?

    you should set it to not receive e-mails if you don't want to get spammed from the forums, simple as that.
