I’d like to get some honest feedback on a Canadian tour website: https://belltours.ca/ The website offers sightseeing, tour packages, guides, transfers and travel services across Canada, with a strong focus on destinations such as Vancouver, Banff, Victoria, Calgary, Whistler, Toronto/Niagara Falls and other Canadian destinations. My main target is the Canadian market, so I’m particularly interested in feedback from people who live in Canada or understand how Canadians search for and choose tour companies online. My question is: What do you think is currently missing or could be improved on this website from an SEO and user-experience point of view if the goal is to attract more Canadian visitors and tour enquiries? I’m especially interested in your thoughts on: Does the website clearly communicate what Bell Tours offers within the first few seconds? Are the destination and tour pages structured in a way that makes sense for Canadian search intent? Are there important Canadian destinations, tour types or search topics that you think should have dedicated content? Does the website look trustworthy enough for someone to enquire or book a tour? Are there any obvious technical/on-page SEO issues you notice? Is anything about the navigation, design, content or calls-to-action making it harder to find information? I’m not looking for a general “the site looks good/bad” opinion. I’d really appreciate specific things you would change if this were your own tourism website targeting customers in Canada. If you’re based in Canada, I’d especially like to know what you would expect to see on a Canadian tour website before contacting or booking with the company.
UX/UI-wise, the site looks solid and professional. That instantly builds trust, as it doesn't look like a cheap MFA site. You seem to have everything covered, from getting a quote to customizing a trip. One thing I noticed was the absence of a search option on the homepage. Is that intentional? Several months ago, we went to Canada to see the Justin Bieber museum in Stratford, Ontario (my teenage daughter really wanted to go), and that whole area is pretty touristy. I'm not sure if it would make sense to design a tour targeting parents with teens (mostly teenage girls) who would enjoy a guided tour related to Justin Bieber and other interesting places in that area.
First issue: I can't tell who this site is for. Regular travelers or travel agents? Pick one and make it clear. Move that "50 years since 1975" badge up top. It's your best trust signal. Don't hide it. Also fix "canada and the usa". Country names need capitals. For Canadian traffic, make one page per destination. "Banff guide services" will beat a homepage tab every time.
Thanks for your feedback. I’d like to clarify two things, though. The website already has destination-specific pages accessible through the Cities and Tours menu items. These pages cover different destinations and tour services, so I’d be interested to know whether you think their structure, content, or visibility could be improved further for Canadian search intent. Regarding the target audience, the website mentions guided tours and guide services, with Bell Tours providing guides to travellers. The intended audience is people looking for tours and travel services, rather than travel agents or people looking for guide jobs. Could you take another look at the website with these points in mind and share more specific suggestions on what you would change? For example, are there any gaps in the existing destination pages, issues with navigation, or improvements you would recommend for building trust and generating more enquiries from Canadian visitors? I appreciate the feedback and would welcome any additional insights you can share.
Thanks for taking the time to review the website. I’m glad to hear that you find the overall design professional and that the quote and trip-customization options are clear. Regarding the search option, the website already has dedicated city and destination pages accessible through the Cities and Tours menu items. I’d be interested to know what you think of the current layout and visibility of these sections. Do you think the navigation makes it easy enough for visitors to find specific destinations, or would you suggest presenting these options differently? Also, from a design and user-experience perspective, is there anything you would change about the homepage, destination pages, or calls-to-action to make the website more engaging and encourage more enquiries from Canadian travellers? Your Stratford suggestion is interesting, too. I can see how themed tours could appeal to specific audiences, although it would be worth understanding the demand before developing a dedicated offering. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. I’d appreciate any further suggestions you have!
I like your site. Though as mentioned above the main services better to be on main page. Design is nice. Usability should be corrected.
