What do you check on a domain before reviving an old project?

If a project has been parked for a year, checking renewal and pointing it to new hosting are the obvious steps.

After reading the Google report below, would you also review recent certificate records before putting it back into use?

What’s on your checklist for a domain you haven’t touched in a while?

Before reviving an old project need to check ownership, history, and technical health of the domain. And ,absolutely review recent CT logs before putting the domain back into use.

Yeah, I'd check the DNS history too. Old domains can come back with nameservers or records nobody remembers changing. I'd check that before putting the site live again.

Add the email side to that list. Check the old MX, SPF and DMARC records before anything else, and look up the domain on a couple of blocklists. If it got used for junk mail while parked, your first round of transactional emails lands in spam and you won't know why.
