So, here in the U.S., there has been a lot of news about Dolly Parton's death at age 80 from cancer. She was a much beloved country western singer, actress, and businesswoman (e.g., founded the Dollywood Amusement Park) who passed away yesterday. I turned on the TV this morning and there was reporting on her death and, during the weather segment, there was discussion about the new Tropical Storm Dolly! At first, I thought that it was a joke or error, but it turns out that "Dolly" was the name assigned to the fourth storm in 2026 hurricane season years ago. Total coincidence, but spooky. I do not recall any other named storm arriving after the contemporaneous death of a same-named celebrity.
Man, this place is deader than a graveyard (speaking of spooky). Another thing I don't like about DP is that when you click on a link in New Posts and don't have time to reply right away, the link disappears from the list. What a stupid idea... I think it's part of that XenForo nonsense. Anyway, that aside, yes it's kind of weird. What's even weirder is that at 77, she delivered an amazing halftime performance just 3 years ago. I only hope to be able to sing at 77. Luckily, hurricane Dolly is not expected to hit Florida right now, as it was downgraded to a minor tropical storm.
