Here in the U.S., there is a lot of noise going on about so-called "Democratic" Socialists starting to win elections in various blue cities. Those wins are actually a testament to the absolute degradation and corruption of the educational system here, but that is fodder for another post. What the poorly educated, Fake News-only informed voters do not know is the false and dangerous narrative that is being fed to them. Let's first get one thing straight: Whether you call it Socialism, Marxism, Stalinism, Democratic Socialism, Nazi-ism (NAZI was an acronym of the National Socialist Party), Fascism (a spin-off of the Italian Socialist Party), Mao-ism or whatever else, it is all the same thing: it features a Leftist, Command and Control government in which only the people in power do well and the rest of the people suffer in equal misery. That is why dictators and tyrants all love socialism, no matter the current name du jour that is being used to obfuscate the truth. As a more recent example, the citizens of Venezuela bought into the lure of a socialist paradise being proposed by a would-be dictator. Once they elected Chavez into office, he did what all socialist dictators do: shut down the free press, nationalized businesses, took away many other freedoms and turned what was the wealthiest South American country into a hellhole of poverty and corruption. Chavez and his cronies, of course, did quite well. With the recent capture and arrest of his successor, Maduro, they may start building back but it will take time to undo the damage caused by the latest socialist dictatorship promising a socialist paradise. Look at the current, most visible crop of dictators: Xi, Putin, and Kim (there are more, of course.) Guess what political system they use to rule with an iron fist? Socialism. Now, Mamdani (the Fake News media darling du jour) in NYC will not have the political juice or resources to become an actual dictator, but you will see him acting like one more and more as time progresses. You will also see NYC quality of life go downhill quickly. Miserable, dependent-on-government residents are the constituency he needs to grow to stay in power. So, his goal right now is to make more of them and he seems to be on track to accomplishing same. Lesser known, but still a Fake News darling is Michelle Wu in Boston. As a militant socialist, she is well on her way into turning Boston into another big city mess as she rules autocratically within the city limits and lurches it radically leftward. Ah, you say, but that is not the intent of socialism. The intent of TNT, as developed by Alfred Nobel, was to make construction of roads and tunnels easier and more efficient. It ended up being used to kill millions and millions of people in war. Socialiam is no different. Think of the millions and millions of people killed by the dictator leaders of socialist systems. Socialism: the system of tyranny and dictatorship ensuring shared misery for all but the elite.
