Does Bidding Slow Down New Website Projects?

For web projects, I think domain buying is often treated as a small step, but it can slow things down.

If you have to wait for an auction, make offers, or keep checking bids, the project can sit there before it even starts. For some people that is fine. For others, especially client work, it is annoying.

A fixed-price domain may not be the lowest possible price, but it gives a clear yes or no.

For people building websites, do you prefer fixed-price domains, or do you still try auctions first?
