I registered/purchased http://poker.community this month. I'm not interested in selling. I love the name, regardless of it's actual worth. However, I like to know what I got, and I plan on building a large poker forum with the domain name. Anyways, how much do you think it's actually worth? I paid $85 USD for it. I think I got a steal.
keywords that have a better commercial value in this extension sold for low xx to low xxx so yeah you paid what is is worth
It looks ok except that the niche is so competitive it must be really hard for new entrants to get any traction.
I don’t want to upset you, but such a domain is of no value, since it doesn’t even have a history. However, if you personally like it, then the price should suit you personally.
Your making the right decision to develop, but your type in traffic will suffer due to a long extension. Not a bad looking domain. It's just going to take alot more work than usual.
sure a high value keyword in a dead no resale value extension no ? "As of 2022, there are nearly 1,600 domain extensions listed in the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Root Zone Database." pretty sure you can find so many of those 1600 extensions still available to register this keyword on op try to stick to .com / .net / .org when you are looking to invest into domains a two word .com in the poker niche will be more valuable than this domain .COM is KING!
Nice pickup. The value of a domain like that depends more on branding potential, memorability, and actual traffic than just the extension or keyword alone. Since it’s a clean and niche-relevant name, it does have strong branding value if you plan to build a real community or forum around it. But at this stage, its “worth” is mostly potential rather than a fixed resale price. In most cases, domains only increase value when they are backed by active content, traffic, and authority. Building it into a useful platform (similar to how structured niche sites like Bus Simulator Indonesia Mod grow through content and consistency) is what really creates long-term value. So yes, $85 is reasonable for a brandable name—but the real value will come from how well you develop it.
