Have SEO strategies changed a lot over the last few years?

I’ve been working on improving search visibility for a small project recently and noticed that SEO strategies seem to be changing faster than before.

While researching different approaches I found a resource explaining how modern SEO works and what factors influence rankings today:
    https://yositeup.com/en-us/

It talks about technical optimization, content structure and long-term search visibility.

For those who work with SEO regularly, what strategies are bringing the best results lately?

Great resource! In my experience with gaming portals, technical SEO and speed are now the bare minimum. If your Web Vitals aren't spot on, content structure almost doesn't matter.
I've been leaning more into UI/UX lately to boost user signals. Are you seeing any specific technical tweaks that actually move the needle for you this year?

For Google, obtain strong incoming links.

Yeah, SEO has definitely shifted — but I’d say the fundamentals are still the same, just with more focus on intent and structure rather than tricks.

What’s working better lately (at least from what I’ve seen):
    • content built around real problems, not just keywords
    • stronger topical clusters instead of isolated pages
    • clear internal linking and UX that supports the journey
    • combining SEO with other channels, not treating it as standalone

Especially in niches like lead gen for SaaS or IT, SEO alone rarely converts unless it’s tied to a clear funnel and follow-up.

A team I’ve been following, Salesar, approaches it more as part of a bigger system — SEO brings in demand, but the real results come when it’s connected with outbound and sales. They focus a lot on quality conversations and structured processes, not just traffic numbers.

So yeah, strategies evolved, but in a way it’s just forcing everyone to go back to doing things properly

Spot on! The shift from 'keyword stuffing' to 'topical authority' is probably the best thing that happened to the web. I'm focusing heavily on those clusters right now for my niche gaming project.
Regarding Salesar's approach – it makes perfect sense. SEO brings the horse to the water, but the UX/funnel has to make it drink. Thanks for the insight!

The AI Overviews shift changed my approach more than anything else in the last couple years. Ranking #1 for informational queries doesn't mean what it used to when Google just answers the question inline. Running a content site in the AI niche, we watched organic drop on informational posts while comparison and review pages stayed relatively intact. The HCU waves accelerated this for anyone relying heavily on informational content.

What's actually working now: decision-stage content (comparisons, tool roundups, reviews) where AI can't fully satisfy intent with a snippet, plus real EEAT signals rather than just topical coverage. Brand presence matters in a way it didn't before. Basically the gap between "site with articles" and "recognized source" got a lot wider.

You’re spot on—the pace is definitely faster. I think the biggest shift recently has been the move toward Topical Authority. It's no longer about winning a single keyword; it's about proving to Google that your site is an expert in that specific niche through consistent structure and interlinking.

Also, 'Information Gain' is huge now. With so much AI content floating around, Google is really rewarding sites that actually provide a unique perspective or original data rather than just summarizing what's already on page one.

Feels like the main shift isn’t really new strategies, but how quickly things get evaluated now.
A page can be technically solid, but if it doesn’t get picked up and revisited early, it just doesn’t move.
It’s less about what you do long-term and more about whether Google even gets enough signals to care in the first place.
