I wanted to share clear, specific feedback on the current submissions so everyone understands the direction I’m heading in and can adjust accordingly if they wish to resubmit. Please don’t take any of this personally - this is simply about refining the visual direction. @Blkstrdst Thank you for the multiple submissions. One thing I do like is the thickness and boldness of the basketball in the design that had a face - that weight feels closer to what I’m aiming for overall. That said: The bow proportions feel off - the curls/ribbons are too thin compared to the bow itself The bow has multiple layers, which I don’t want The overall bow form doesn’t reflect the reference pendant shape The basketball uses multiple shades/colour transitions - I’m looking for one solid colour, with contrast coming from the background instead One design included a face on the basketball, which I don’t want at all Line thickness between the bow and basketball is inconsistent In the face design, the bow styling matched the same bold thickness as the basketball, this could move closer to the intended direction. @fajarfaqih I do like this concept overall - it’s clean and readable, and the ribbon detail crossing in front of the basketball looks good. My main feedback: The additional ribbon pieces coming from behind the bow don’t feel visually logical I’d love to see the line work slightly thicker to make it feel bolder and more sticker-friendly @getdomain4u I like the colour usage here; it feels soft and on-brand. A few adjustments I’d suggest: The pendant reference may have been taken a bit too literally I don’t want the hook or jump ring included - just the basketball with a bow on top I’d prefer the basketball to face more forward, with a slight 45-degree angle left or right rather than being angled upward @logoesdesign Thank you for the submission. However: The way the bow sits on the basketball feels unnatural The connection between the two elements needs to feel more relaxed and organic @T.j. However: Line work is too thin across all designs The bow feels oversized and overly plump The watercolour style isn’t what I’m looking for The bow doesn’t feel naturally placed on the basketball Overall Direction and Comments To help guide future submissions, here are some key points that apply to most of the designs No faces on the basketball No AI-generated designs No oversized bows that overpower the ball No multiple layered bows or excessive ribbon tails What I am looking for: Bold, thick, clean line work (similar to the “I Love Netball” sticker reference in the g-drive link) Simple, graphic, and readable at small sizes A single-colour basketball (no gradients within the ball) A ribbon-style bow that feels relaxed and proportional A slight 45-degree angle rather than a completely flat front view The goal is a clean, simple icon that works well as a die-cut sticker. Below is feedback on the most recent entries. @Blkstrdst Thank you for these! I’m really liking the direction here. Between the two designs, I prefer the first one. The boldness and thickness are working really well, and it’s feeling strong and confident as a sticker. A few notes for refinement: I’d love to see the design shown from a 45-degree angle Ideally, this would apply to both the basketball and the bow, not just the ball Adding a bit of shared perspective could introduce some subtle depth and 3D feel Overall, this is one of my favourite designs so far. @T.j. Detwiler Nice progress here, I really like the way the basketball is turned, and that sense of movement is working well. Some refinement notes: I’d like the bow to rotate with the basketball, rather than facing straight forward The bow’s line art doesn’t quite match the thickness and weight of the basketball across the designs Of the three versions, the third (thickest) design is the strongest Even there, something still feels slightly off, I think angling the bow to a subtle 45-degree perspective (to match the ball) could help unify everything @fajarfaqih This is looking really nice so far! clean, balanced, and visually clear. One small tweak I’d suggest: The ribbon detail in the front feels quite thin compared to the ribbon behind it A bit more consistency in ribbon thickness would help the bow feel more cohesive @MikeRon This is definitely an improvement! I’d love to see continued focus on: bow shape and flow and how naturally it sits on the basketball @technoguy This is really nice, and I especially like the shading and colouring on the basketball. That part is working very well. Some notes: The ribbon feels too small relative to the ball The overall design feels quite tilted, almost as if it’s on an axis rather than turned by 45 degrees It may work better if the basketball were straighter, facing a 45 degree angle - with the bow resting naturally on top, rather than the entire design leaning @logoesdesign (Newest Submission) Thank you for the updated design. As for feedback: The ribbon strings feel a bit overpowering relative to the basketball It doesn’t quite feel like the bow is resting on the ball — more like it’s floating or disconnected @getdomain4u This is looking muchbetter without the chain, thank you for adjusting that. Some refinement notes: Slightly thicker line art on both the ribbon and basketball could help with boldness The ribbon currently looks as if it’s sitting behind the basketball rather than on top I’d love to see the bow clearly resting on the ball, with a small ribbon detail draping forward @watari This is really cute, and the overall idea is working nicely.
