With AI tools, automated fulfillment, and global suppliers evolving fast, is traditional dropshipping still a viable model in 2025? Or is it shifting toward branded micro-stores and private labeling? Curious what others are seeing in their markets.

I think dropshipping is even more alive. I think shifting to 100% digital (for example, I can live anywhere and still make money) is the future. SEO in itself or Ecommerce is very new still.
I drop ship art using Gelato. It's a smart business model. You advertise and do nothing else. Just my thoughts, I think dropshipping is genius.

I am actually going to be testing this, but from the UK. Not China.

I’m still doing eBay dropshipping and it’s been working fine for me. Last 3 months I crossed $20,000+ in sales so the model is definitely still viable it just depends on how clean your setup is and how good your suppliers are.

Dropshipping isn’t dead, but it has definitely changed.

The “old style” dropshipping (cheap AliExpress products, long shipping times, no branding) is almost gone because of competition, poor customer experience, and stricter ad policies.

The new version of dropshipping is more about:
    • branded products
    • local or faster suppliers
    • niche-focused stores
    • better customer support
    • higher-quality ads and creative assets

People who treat it like a real business are still doing well.
Those who expect quick money with low effort usually struggle.

So no — dropshipping isn’t dead, it’s just evolving.
