First time installing a shower

Redid our shower. We encountered a major issue with the shower pans, creating a frustrating experience. The first one arrived cracked. We exchanged it and later found out it had a small defect we missed, plus cracks on the bottom, which I suspected from the weird sounds it made when I stepped on it. Super frustrating. We checked a few Lowe's, but their pans were damaged too. I'm pretty disappointed with Sterling’s quality control or their shipping process, seems like their shower kits keep getting banged up in transit. After some hunting, we finally found a good pan, even though its packaging was all torn. The shower looks awesome now and I'm really happy with how it turned out. From start to finish took me about 9 days.

How it started (it was an old, filthy shower stall):

It's very sturdy. Plus, my wife now has much more space for her conditioners with all the shelves!

Nice, and you must have saved a ton of money versus paying someone to do it? Have you done the math on that?

I'm thinking the labor would be about $1,000 plus whatever supplies a contractor would need. The first photo you saw was somebody else's work. He talked the talk but delivered poor results. That time we installed a MAXX shower kit, known for its high quality, but he applied caulk everywhere, which was unnecessary for a caulk-free system. Within weeks, mold started growing. He also failed to address the squeaky shower pan. I did it myself this time to ensure it was done correctly. Now, the shower is solid, squeak-free, leak-free, mold-free and I hope it stays that way.
