Unfortunately not searching in any code other than Google, feels most secure

DuckDuckGo or StartPage, if I want Google's results without sacrificing privacy.

Google results are very clear and accurate.

If I have to use any other search engine under compulsion, then I will use Bing.

DuckDuckGo probably uses Bing's API so there's no point in using it

Bing, Google's biggest contender, rakes in 15% of U.S. searches and also powers Yahoo, the U.S.'s third biggest search engine.

Edge is a browser, not a search site/engine.

"After" Google? I never use snoopy, invasive Google. Duckduckgo is easily the best choice IMO.

All search engines collect user data, regardless of their claims. Governments can legally compel them to share this information when necessary.

In the US it would be under Stored Communications Act (SCA) or the Patriot Act. There are similar legislations in other countries. Google's Transparency Report (2023) noted over 40,000 government requests for user data worldwide in the first half of 2023 alone.

Still waiting on evidence of how ALL search engines collect user data. We all know Google does.

Could you clarify, for the benefit of others reading this thread, what specific evidence you're seeking regarding their security measures or any evidence you have that they do not collect user data? A quick search led me to this article. Check it out, if interested. I'm not here to argue, those days are well behind me. :)

? You are the one who made the claim, so the burden of evidence is on you, not me. Not interested in arguing either, just think that anyone making such a big, sweeping claim should be able to back it up. The link you posted, for example...although that looks to be not Duckduckgo collecting user data vs having vulnerabilities that let others collect it (granted the end result may end up the same, making that moot).

That all said, I'll still take just about anyone over Google, thanks, but to each their own. The question IMO should have been "what's your favorite search engine" vs assuming everyone bows down to Google.
