Will higher DA help me to rank higher in Google?

Some people say high DA will help but others say DA is irrelevant.
What is your take?

 

DA is not a metric that any search engine uses to rank site.

You can think about it as body weight - if I only tell you someone's bodyweight, you can only make an assumption.
For example, somebody that weighs 95 kg might be well built and lean or somewhat overweight.
Same goes for DA a high DA might be a result of "good" backlinks or a result of a spammy link building strategy.

While DA is not a metric created by Google but by Moz, it trys to estimate "PageRank" like scores as Google does. So it's not a ranking factor in itself, but what it's trying to estimate is.

It's widely known that DA can be manipulated as can Pagerank and one reason Google stopped reporting it's scores. If DA is built naturally and with quality backlinks then it could correlate with better rankings.

 

Backlinks from High DA websites can improve your DA but does not mean it will help in higher ranking in Google. For good ranking your need first good on page and backlinks from real website by natural ways, if Google notice that you are purchasing links or inserting links forcefully then it can be reason of drop ranking.

Since when google uses DA for ranking sites?

 

DA is a MOZ's matrics to major the website's domain age on various factors. But it is not a ranking factor anymore. It is good to check while selling or buying old domains (other factors are also important).
Most SEO thinks the links from the High DA PA websites are more powerful and have more value but it is not the case. There are many people who trick the DA and sell backlinks at higher prices. So better would be to do some R&D before creating backlinks (it must be relevant and from the relevant niche).

Why do so many continue to make this shit up for and post nonsense?

 

But DA is MOZ signal not of Google. When you buy a fresh domain then DA will be 1 without any activity .... if you will write few contents there and domain name is good then after few days you will see DA is 3 or 5+. I dont think also that google consider for DA when ranking a website in SERPs.

 

DA is just a 3rd party metric. And it's the not 2014.

Good-quality content and good-quality backlinks do help.

 

DA is just one indicator. Changes examples of pages with artificially inflated DA and practically zero traffic.
