I have a domain that is listed on DMOZ.com but not on directory.google.com. What's the deal here? Is directory.google.com not updating?
You will definitely see it in directory.google.com eventually. It may mot happen over night. Wait for few days or even a month. Congratulations on getting dmoz list.
Or perhaps a lot longer than that. Google doesn't update its DMOZ feeds very regularly at all any more and with DMOZ currently out of commission I'm not sure they even can. Beyond that, Google has been progressively losing interest in DMOZ over the past few years. It's a non-issue.
Google may never update it again. I will bet a dollar that the google "directory" will be ditched in January 2007.
Google will index those sites which included by DMOZ in about 1 month, sometimes sooner, sometimes later.
Google will index those sites which included by DMOZ in about the same time they index any other site with an incoming link from another site they know about.
Is this for real? How did you conclude that google is loosing interest in dmoz? What may be the reasons behind this?
If she's "betting a dollar", obviously she's not sure - just offering an opinion... one I agree with, incidentally - if not in 2007, definitely by 2008.
People are completely unbelieven on Dmoz.org Will it end? I mean, after this time without accepting new Urls, they are again accepting, but the service is as slow as it used to be. Why don't they open submissions to new editors. I believe this could make this issue better
To what? The admins? Existing editors? The process? The infrastructure? The mission statement? Where do you start?
We were talking about reopening submissions to new editors, but there are some others areas that could use some work. Come join us, we could use the help.
